Women's Forum

The Year 2000 saw the establishment of the Metropolitan Black Police Association Women's Forum (MBPAWF). The MBPAWF was established to address the needs of sisters with the Association. At a strategic level the forum seeks to identify barriers to the development and career progression of black women within the police service.

A common misconception is that the MBPAWF is only concerned with women issues, or negative criticism of men.. wrong and definitely not true, we are however, about eradicating sexism and racism in the workplace and society at large.

The MBPAWF is not about special favours for women, but equality and empowerment. Working with our brothers in the Association we will hold the police service to account to ensure that black women are no longer treated as second-class citizens, but as equals within a police service fit for the twenty first century.
